I admit to being slightly behind in my reading. But the March 28 GolfWorld had some very interesting interviews from many of the more experienced in the game. Interviews can be found here.
Here are a few of the more interesting excerpts:
“I’ve watched Tiger Woods since he was 15 and marvel at what he can do on the golf course. He has been amazing. And there was a time when he smiled and was more gracious. But that has gone, Now, even when asked reasonably sensible golfing questions, he looks like he has terminal piles. He gives nothing back and looks like he hates every minute. He has never learned the art of communication.”
Jack Burke Jr.
“You know, they don’t give trophies to guys who hit all the fairways. They give them to guys who can putt.”
“I played a good part of my career with a 2-iron, and I was pretty good with it. When I look at it now, I wonder how I ever hit it.”
